This kitchen was designed by Tim, Director of Shaker Wholesale, bringing both creative vision and hands-on experience to the layout.

The generous island forms the centrepiece of the room. Crucially, it was intentionally designed without a sink — there is nothing to interrupt conversation or sightlines across the space. The island becomes a true gathering point for coffee, homework, entertaining and everything in between.

Behind the bar stools sits a cleverly concealed storage cupboard, perfectly positioned for bottles and glassware. A discreet solution for entertaining that keeps the island clean and conversation flowing. For the realities of daily life, a dedicated utility room sits alongside the kitchen, absorbing laundry, clutter and the inevitable family mess.

Solid oak dovetail drawers, soft close runners and in-frame construction throughout ensure the kitchen is built to withstand the energy of a busy household.

The cabinetry pairs a deep blue island in RAL 5008 with light grey cabinetry in RAL 9003. The contrast anchors the room while keeping the overall feel light and architectural.

The palette is calm and timeless, but the personality comes through in the styling. Bold prints on the walls and carefully chosen accessories introduce pops of colour, softening the structure of the cabinetry and giving the space warmth and individuality. Composed, but never clinical.
